About Image of Designer

Hi, I’m Sam — an aerospace engineer and visual interface designer working at the intersection of aviation, space science, and digital product design.

I design clean, technical interfaces for complex systems, from aviation dashboards and geospatial workflows to space-related data tools and portfolio websites.

My background in aerospace engineering, planetary science, Python, GIS, and aircraft operations helps me create designs that are not only visually strong, but technically grounded.

I believe good design is not just about how something looks. It is about how clearly it explains a system, how smoothly it supports a workflow, and how confidently it helps people make decisions.

Process

My process starts before the visuals.

I begin by understanding the system, the user, and the technical purpose behind the project. Whether it is an app interface, an engineering solution, a CAD design, a GIS workflow, or a technical visualization, I look at what needs to be communicated, what decisions the work should support, and how complexity can be made clearer.

From there, I move into structure, modeling, layout, visual direction, and refinement. The goal is to create work that feels premium and precise, while staying practical, functional, and grounded in real use.

I believe strong design is not only about appearance. It is about clarity, logic, and how well the final result solves the problem.
